WOOD PRINT GUIDELINES

Our MIMAKI printer only reads PDF files.

You should have 3 PDF's:

  • Make an outline in the size of the wood (72 dpi)
  • Make a CMYK black background erasing any white space where the wood will show on the print (300 dpi, CMYK)
  • Make the final color version of the file erasing any white space where the wood shows on the print. This should match the blank space in the backgroudn PDF file (300 dpi, RGB)

The PDF files should look like this:

NOTES ABOUT RESOLUTION

HI RES vs LOW RES

DPI (Dots per Sq Inch) indicate how many dots or pixels are in a square inch.

The more dots the better the image looks. It can be the same size but with different resolution, an image can be more or less detailed. It may not be apparent on a computer screen but it will be noticeable wen printed.

Printed image is the same size but with different reolutions.
